The Red Gate was established in 1996 as a select breeding farm of

Registered Miniature Donkeys. Red Gate donkeys have been sold to top 

breeding and show farms from coast to coast and abroad. It is located

in the heart of Ohio approximately 40 miles NE of Columbus.

Over the years, the Ellingers have assembled a highly select group of

exceptional, proven, pedigreed breeding jennets. The Red Gate breeding

program is focused on correct body structure including build and

balance; not color. Red Gate jennets consistently produce foals

with strong, straight legs, balanced builds and excellent movement and

show potential. As a result of these efforts, The Red Gate Miniature

Donkeys are being successfully shown nationally and internationally

with several recent NMDA Champion awards.
